the Penthouse Maverick

February 22, 2023 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Our inspiration for this recipe was to create a soft shot that was unique, elevated, and premium, with a focus on a well-balanced flavor profile that was not too fruity or too sweet. We wanted to create a shot that would appeal to those who are looking for a high-end, non-alcoholic beverage experience that would be suitable for special occasions or celebrations.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. matcha green tea
  • 1 oz. mint syrup (recipe below)
  • 1 oz. coconut milk
  • 1 oz. honey syrup (recipe below)
  • Crushed pistachios
  • Edible flowers

Instructions:

Fill two shot glasses with equal portions of matcha green tea and mint syrup, creating two separate layers. Carefully pour the coconut milk on top of the mint syrup, being careful not to disturb the other layers. Drizzle the honey syrup on top of the coconut milk, creating a swirl effect. Crush the pistachios and sprinkle on top of each shot. Place a few edible flowers on top of each shot for added color and a touch of elegance.

The combination of matcha green tea, mint syrup, coconut milk, honey syrup, crushed pistachios, and edible flowers creates a unique flavor profile that is both refreshing and satisfying. The earthy flavor of matcha green tea is balanced by the cool and minty flavor of the mint syrup, while the coconut milk and honey syrup add creaminess and sweetness, respectively. The crushed pistachios add a crunchy texture and nutty flavor that complements the other flavors, while the edible flowers add a touch of beauty and elegance to the shot. All of these elements come together to create a truly premium non-alcoholic shot experience that is sure to impress.

Mojito

February 22, 2023 by Gabe Leave a Comment

One of the world’s most popular cocktails, the mojito is a simple mixed drink typically made of rum, mint, lime, sugar, and club soda. Here, we remove the alcohol while keeping the cool, herbal flavor of the original.

Ingredients:

  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup (recipe below)
  • 2 oz club soda
  • Ice cubes

Instructions:

Muddle the mint leaves in the bottom of a glass. Add the lime juice and simple syrup and stir to combine. Fill the glass with ice and top with club soda. Stir gently and serve.

This non-alcoholic mojito has a bright, refreshing flavor with a touch of sweetness from the simple syrup. The lime juice provides a tangy, citrus flavor, the simple syrup contributes a sweet, neutral flavor, and the club soda provides a light, crisp quality. The fresh mint leaves add a cool, herbal flavor and aroma, and muddling them in the bottom of the glass releases their essential oils enhancing their flavor.
