Bloody Marys

February 22, 2023 by Gabe Leave a Comment

A Bloody Mary is a classic brunch cocktail made with vodka, tomato juice, and a variety of spices and seasonings. To create a non-alcoholic version, give one of these a try:

Version 1: Original Premium Mary

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz tomato juice
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 1 oz Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 oz horseradish
  • Tabasco sauce, to taste
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Celery salt, to taste
  • Ice cubes

Instructions:

Fill a glass with ice. Add the tomato juice, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, Tabasco sauce, salt, pepper, and celery salt to the glass. Stir well to mix. Taste and adjust the seasonings to your liking. Serve with a celery stalk or pickled vegetable for garnish, if desired.

This version of the Bloody Mary has a tangy, savory, and slightly spicy flavor, with a touch of acidity from the lemon juice and a bit of heat from the horseradish and Tabasco sauce. The tomato juice provides a base of flavor, the Worcestershire sauce contributes savoriness, and the horseradish adds a touch of heat. Enjoy!

Version 2: Elevated Mary

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz tomato juice
  • 1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 oz honey syrup (recipe below)
  • 1/2 oz Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 oz sriracha or hot sauce
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Celery salt, for rimming the glass
  • Celery stalk and lemon wedge, for garnish
  • Ice

Instructions:

Rim a tall glass with celery salt by rubbing a lemon wedge around the rim and then dipping it into a plate of celery salt. Fill the glass with ice. In a shaker, combine the tomato juice, lemon juice, lime juice, honey syrup, Worcestershire sauce, sriracha or hot sauce, salt, and black pepper. Shake well until all ingredients are combined. Strain the mixture into the prepared glass. Garnish with a celery stalk and lemon wedge. Serve and enjoy!

This recipe emphasizes the savory and tangy flavors of the traditional Bloody Mary while elevating it with the sweetness of honey syrup and the brightness of lemon and lime juice. The celery salt rim and the spicy kick of sriracha or hot sauce add a unique twist that sets it apart from a traditional Bloody Mary. Enjoy!

Peppy Punch

February 22, 2023 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Here’s another recipe for a non-alcoholic cocktail that has the “heat” of alcohol:

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz tomato juice
  • 2 oz lemon-lime soda
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz honey syrup (recipe below)
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • Ice cubes

Instructions:

Fill a shaker with ice. Add the tomato juice, lemon-lime soda, lemon juice, honey syrup, and black pepper to the shaker. Shake well to mix. Strain the mixture into a highball glass glass filled with ice. Stir gently and serve.

This cocktail has a tangy, sweet, and slightly spicy flavor, with a touch of heat from the black pepper. The tomato juice provides a savory base, the lemon-lime soda contributes a sweet, carbonated flavor, the lemon juice provides tartness, and the honey syrup adds sweetness. Let us know what you think!
